What should I expect on my first guitar lesson?

I go to my guitar lesson today for the first time! I wonder is there anything I should know. I know most of the major chords and minor chords, and my fingers hard (laughs). So just go with the flow, or say what should be said? Thanks for your advice

Your teacher will probably ask you what you know/ if u already know anything and just tell them that you know the chords you know ’cause you don’t want to do learn anything you already know. Also say what sort of music you like and maybe your teacher can research those artists and find a song of theirs that is at your level. You should also establish if you want to just learn how to play guitar or if you want to do grades and get proof.

most of this lesson will be a “getting to know you” session. Your teacher will play for you and you will play for him/her. Your teacher will ask what you’re interested in, and make recommendations for what you can study together in order to get you there.

Don’t hold back about asking anything – that’s what a lesson is for: to get answers.

Have fun, and congratulations: you’re already one step ahead of everybody who doesn’t take lessons!
