What do I need to learn to get good at Acoustic Guitars?

I was gifted with an Acoustic Guitar.
I am currently trying to learn Stairway to Heaven with no prior knowledge of Guitars, other than knowing how to read Tabs.
What else Should I know to make learning easier for me?

   The first thing you need to do is to get a guitar book or find free/paid tutorials online. People who start playing a musical instrument don’t start by playing songs. You need to start practicing different scales and only after you get better at that you start learning easy(!) pieces.

   It is getting hard to trust the answers here. So many have very prejudice reasons for their answers.
   Your best bet is to sign up for a class or 6 months of lessons. After that you will know enough to know when the right suggestions and answers come along.
