What brand and model of speakers should i get for my mp3 player? ?

No I have an iPod and it seems that most speakers MP3 player out there made for the iPod. Someone out there who are not either an iPod, a recommendation? I live in an apartment with a bedroom, so I do not think the speakers are really strong. I want speakers for $ 50 – $ 150 I mostly listen to alternative and electronic.
