How much (estimate) would a Gibson Sg Special guitar from the 70′s be worth today?

My dad had a Gibson SG Special guitar back in the 70′s that he sold for almost nothing. I was wondering how much its worth these days. You can estimate, I dont need the EXACT price.

It will not be worth as much as those Les Pauls

If the serial number shows a non defected SG it can go couple of grand max

i know a guy who got 4k for one

I love Gibson SG’s but I believe the 60′s SG’s are considered more valuable. I’d say 3k at least.

on ebay right now there is one going for about 2.5k so around there would be my best guess

At Guitar Center’s vintage room I’ve seen prices anywhere from 20-40 thousand dollars, possibly more.

I remember them being 3-7 grand back in 2001

Btw, The chances that the guitar would have been actually worth that are small. It would have had to have been taken care of for 40 years, and guitars that old never have original parts which really lowers the value.
