How do I change the strings on my guitar?

I’m lame, I know. I bought new strings for the guitar, but I don’t know how to switch them out or whatever. No making fun of my stupidity=[. So anyways. Detailed instructions would help a lot:). KayThanks.

They differ in colour, but all guitars come with knobbly bits at the “neck” of the guitar. These are used to tune the guitar. I’m not sure what it’s called, but I USED to have a tuning instrument. There were 6 notes on it, each corresponding to which string you were tuning. Sorry I can’t be of more help — maybe someone else knows? :-)

Its going to be hard to explain but ill do my best…

The thinnest string goes at the bottom(usually .009 or .010) and you work your way up from there, depending on what sort of bridge you have you string it throuh the bridge and up the neck to the nut (the little plastic bit at the top of the neck that holds the strings in) then you string it through the tuners (6 windey plasic/steel winders).

Make sure they go into the right tuners (Its not too hard to figure out) and then hold the string down on the headstock with 1 finger and wind the string (this prevents overlap of the string and loss of tuning)

Once you have done this tune up the guitar, then holding your finger on the 1st fret, pull the string to stretch it in, dont do it too hard as you dont want to snap the string or pull it off the nut. Then tune it again and your ready to go.

If your still having problems, take it to your local music shop, they can help alot and even restring it for you for a small fee.

You can take them in to get changed out! You don’t have to do it all by yourself cuz I dunno how to change mine either!

    any advice for mine?
