Fallen Vietnam soldier’s friends from Woodrow take his mom to memorial
Standing on a ladder, Dorothy McLain touched each letter of her son’s name etched into the shiny black granite: Robert A. Beavers. It took almost 30 years, but McLain, at age 79, finally got to see his name on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.
